THE HBCU INITIATIVE
Students + Alumni
Industry partners have teamed up with BFCT to create more Unity in the outdoor industry, community, and beyond!
WHAT IS AN HBCU?
HBCUs, or Historically Black Colleges or Universities, were started during segregation to give Black students access to higher education and with the purpose of educating either a former slave or their descendants. You do not have to be Black to enroll in an HBCU—today HBCU’S are celebrated for empowering diversity in higher education and for curriculum enriched and woven with African American history and philosophies.
DIGITAL EDUCATION INITIATIVE
Black Folks Camp Too and Outdoor Industry partners have created a freely accessible digital library of culturally relevant and educational materials for the outdoors.
The Digital Education Initiative will feature four sections of focus:
Trailin
Camping
RV Livin
Outdoor Lifestyle
OUR VISION
Our job is to create opportunities for current HBCU students and alumni in the outdoor industry and lifestyle.
