OUR STRATEGIC WNC RECOVERY PLAN

Our strategic plan to help our Western North Carolina (WNC) Unity Blaze partners recover from Hurricane Helene.
SUPPORT FIRST RESPONDERS
On September 27th, Hurricane Helene dumped 43 TRILLION gallons of water on the Southeast, and the mountains of Western North Carolina were hit HARD! That is roughly the equivalent of Lake Tahoe being released over 36 hours. The effects were utterly devastating for much of Asheville and the surrounding areas of Swannanoa, Brevard, Burnsville, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Lake Lure, Spruce Pines, Marshall and too many others to mention.

Many of the people impacted were our Unity Blaze Partners. Some of the stats released so far about the extent of damage include 1,893 landslides, 126,000 home damaged, 1,000 bridges and culverts destroyed, 6,000 miles of road impassable, 160 water and sewage systems incapacitated.

An amazing community of volunteers, first responders, linemen and road workers and others have come together in support of the recovery. It will take years, but every journey begins with the first step.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP “PUT A LITTLE SOUL IN THE STEPS” OF OUR FIRST RESPONDERS, LINEMEN, ROAD CREWS, AND VOLUNTEERS.

Purchase as many Pairs of Unity Blaze Obōz Ōfit insoles as you like, and the BFCT TEAM will deliver each pair of insoles purchased directly to the Folks rebuilding and restoring Western North Carolina.
